New Bag finished!

I have been working on this bag for a while now. The fabric is from Ikea, the fleece and other bits from u-handbag.com, which is where I bought the pattern from.
It is finished just in time for our trip to Decoy country park.Praying for some Sun and no rain!!!

Visit to Coleton Fishacre

For the un-informed this house was the home of the D'Oyley Carte family( of Gilbert and Sullivan fame!).
The visit was with the Dart Valley home ed group. Julia and I enjoyed meeting new folks, and I braved the narrow Devon lanes in the van! The weather was mixed but we found a dry place to eat our lunch before the rain stopped in time for a walk. Lovely garden and fantastic views.

Hannah's visit

it was lovely to have Hannah staying for a week with us. it gave us the chance to catch up with all her news, plan Christmas visits and book a cottage for an Easter holiday with her, Dan and the baby!
We also went out in Jireh( see Phil's blog) and had a trip to Dartmoor and the river Dart at Dartmeet. As you can see from the pictures we had a great time.

My Birthday jumper-completed.

This lovely green wool( a mixture of alpaca and wool) was purchased with birthday money from my kind mother-in-law. The pattern was from'Knitty' an online knitting magazine. The jumper was knitted on circular and double ended needles, from the top down!
I am looking forward to wearing it this winter.

Mattiscombe in the sun

Today we took a trip to the sea-side. Fantastic sunshine and a lovely beach with hardly anyone else on it! To get to Mattiscombe you have to drive out to Start Point Lighthouse. Just before you get there you arrive at a car park. From there it is a 10 minute walk down to the beach. As you can see we had a great time.

Visit to the American Museum at Bath

I have been wanting to visit the American Museum for a long time and our time at Weston was the perfect opportunity. Lots of interesting stuff there, almost too much for one visit. Lots of fantastic quilts on show, and the chance to step inside a teepee!

Camping at W-S-M

Here you can see the van with its awning. The inside of Lydia's tent( she wanted to sleep separately).Lydia and Julia playing Scrabble and Phil sitting enjoying the outdoors!!
We had beautiful sunny weather at the beginning of the week, a bit wet at the weekend and then better for our last two days.
Travelling up and down to exams went without a hitch, except for needing a new section of exhaust pipe!
Needless to say it is a great relief that Lydia's exams are over- now we just have to wait for the results!!
