House for Sale-nearly!

Not only do we have a boat for sale, we nearly have a house for sale!
The estate agent visited on Monday to measure up and take details, and then sent two of his staff today to take photographs. So by the weekend it should be officially for sale!
He gave us a little talk about the state of the market/Northern Rock/ credit squeeze which we took to be a veiled warning not to expect anything to happen in a hurry! But..'If God be for us, who can be against us?' I'm sure that this can apply to selling a house in an uncertain market if it is in His plan! We remain prayerful about the whole situation.
I have made contact with The Lighthouse group and we are going to their craft afternoon this week. Don't know who or what to expect- hope it won't be too babyish- especially for Lydia.we are combining this with a search for Lydia's new mobile phone- a birthday present!
Tomorrow we have a rehearsal for the Women's World Day of Prayer service, me reading, Lydia singing, actual service next week 7th March. Day after Lydia's 15th birthday!

Half Term

Half term is nearly at an end! Lydia appropriated the portable TV and has spent most mornings watching in bed after she got back from her paper round!
We dragged them both out on Tuesday for a visit to Dartmoor and a walk up to the Avon Dam.
Wednesday saw Phil, Julia and I at the churh coffee morning, in the evening Julia went to another sleepover. Fortunately when I collected her on Thursday morning I discovered that they had actually slept! Friday brought Phil's new laptop and a wireless connection so he can go online even if Lydia is hogging the desktop.
The new laptop also means that Phil can get on with his music writing, something which we want to plan into our week. He has a medical this week so that he can get a boatman's licence and drive the water taxi, and an application form for ABRSM examiner to fill in- he won't have much free time soon!
We have made contact with a Home-Ed group in Plymouth and plan to join in their activities where possible, should be good!

We are back!!

Last time I wrote I was on my way to Malaysia to se Phil. Well, now we are both back in England. We flew back in on 14th February and are just about back to normal (although we were both awake at 6am today!). We had a few days together on board Pumpkin alongside a pontoon at the Royal Selangor Yacht Club, then on Monday 11th Pumpkin was craned out of the water and put in the boatyard, where she will stay until sold ( we are praying very much for this!).I was able to help Phil clean her up and leave her already to be viewed/sold. we had a new cover made to protect her from the sun and dust.
Lovely to be back with Phil and the girls.

On my way!

Flights are bought, the girls are organised,I fly out to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning!!!
It will be fantastic to see Phil again although I shall be sad to leave the girls behind, but I'm sure we will all benefit from the trip! 'A Change is as good as a rest' as they say.
I have been reading lots of other blogs lately and have been inspired to improve mine. So when I get back( with Phil) I will be heavily into blogging!

A visit to Malaysia

Phil has got to wait until after Chinese New Year to get Pumpkin lifted out, so I am hoping to go out for a week and fly back to England with him!
Flights seem to be available for less than £500 return and our very good friends Lyn and Tony have offered to have Lydia and Julia to stay! It is a chance for them to see Home-Ed at first hand, although Lydia studies independently mostly I will need to organise a schedule for Julia to follow with a minimum of help.
It is all very exciting!

Coming Home!

Well it is finally decided, Phil is going to get Pumpkin lifted out of the water and put in the boatyard at the yacht club in Klang. The trip is officially called off, Pumpkin will be put up for sale with Scott Brown, and Phil will fly home!
It will be lovely to have him home again but things can sometimes be a bit tricky at first as we all get used to a new chain of command!
There is an English couple in Klang that Phil has made friends with, and they are going to keep an eye on Pumpkin and maybe even show prospective purchasers around.
So we will see what happens next!

Another Birthday!

Yesterday was my 49th birthday and although Phil is not here I still had a lovely day with the girls, and coffee with Lyn! ,Hannah will be home on Monday but has lots of dissertation work to do- the joys of Uni 3rd year!
Phil phoned yesterday for a long chat which was fantastic. He and Daniel( and Pumpkin) are safely installed in the yacht club at Klang. Daniel flys back to UK today and hopes to rendezvous with Crystal at the airport on her way back from Dublin!
The yacht club would be a much cheaper place to leave Pumpkin while we try and sell her- we could even get her lifted out into the boatyard-much easier for prospective buyers to view.Still no word from the crew for the next leg. Phil really doesn't want to continue to Sri Lanka, he would like to leave Pumpkin where she is and fly back to UK. Selling Pumpkin would mean we could pay off most of the mortgage and convert Buttercup into a full-blown camper. Watch this space!!
